A challenge to look at what we have 'not' sacrificed, leaving the best back at home rather than bringing to God
Habakkuk learns not to look at the world as someone lost in the midst of a tornado, but rather from above the chaos, seeing the world from above.
Minor prophets refers to length not importance. There are many phrases that we would have heard that sit hidden in these small books. Today we look at complacency.
It rarely helps when the Bible gives another superhuman measuring stick for us to measure up to, but this passage give pointers to everyday practises.

Proverbs is a deeply practical book, and these verses we look at today give us a lot to think about, about ourselves, our words, motives and impact.
It’s sometimes tempting to re-order the proverbs, to gather them into distinct themes. This, however, could miss the point that it’s their very randomness which makes them especially suitable and relatable for reflecting on the way in which we’re often required to negotiate what it means to live wisely in the particularities of daily life.

Proverbs 2 covers virtue and discernment. As described here, virtuous living is moral living. When a person strives to live a moral life, they develop a greater ability to discern right from wrong.
Proverbs is one of the five “wisdom books” of the Bible, based on the knowledge and fear of God as opposed to how much knowledge an individual has. Attributed to Solomon, it is a book of instructions on how to live a life pleasing to God and how to be more peaceful with all of mankind.

Even though the story of Ruth is centuries old, there are still things to take as encouragement or a challenge into our very modern lives
The story of Ruth is important because it points forward to Jesus, and there are things to learn about family here.

How you view the progress of this story might depend on how you see Boaz. While his actions may be well outside our cultural norms, he gets a permanent place in history, part of the family of king David.

We are looking at the life of Ruth. It is simple a tale of friendship, family obligations, and explores whether Yahweh can be trusted.
The disciples were meeting behind closed doors and the Holy Spirit came in ways that they and all the people round could not mistake.
Meeting the disciples by the lake shore we discover that resurrection has real consequences, and the end of the story can now change.
Here we see Jesus in a close-up moment, praying for us – to be protected, sanctified, and unified
At the end of the meal together Jesus prays, not the prayer of someone seeking God's blessing or favour, but one 'voicing the purpose of the Godhead'
Jesus didn’t want his disciples to be under the delusion that their future ministry would be full of ease and comfort, but also gives provides peace and courage to count on.
Jesus has been 'God in flesh' – with his disciples but he is preparing them for his return to be with God. The step shift is that now the Spirit can be with all not just special people.
Jesus tells his disciples that not everyone will love or appreciate them. In fact some will face hostility, persecution and trials because of their faith.
Around the world, Christians are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus!
Christ the Lord is risen today, Sons of men and angels say. Raise your joys and triumphs high; Sing, you heavens, and earth reply.
– Charles Wesley
Most people who heard Jesus knew about growing their own grapes, and what is required to keep the vines healthy and productive, Jesus illustrates something important about our relationship with God
At their last meal together, Jesus starts by washing the disciples' feet. After predicting his betrayal and a denial, he then talks about going away. This leads to discussion about how to get to where he is going
